- I am looking for an iris named after my grandfather (now deceased), Dr. H F (Pat) Murphy, who was head of agronomy at Oklahoma State University (then Oklahoma A & M). He would have registered the Iris in the 1950s or 1960s and I think it was called a murphy iris.

- LOST.
I am searching for a TB Historical Iris named "Wakita", TB, Introduced 1962, hybridizer Hooker, 40", M/ML/L, color Copper/Brown. No photo available.
I have found out that the hybridizer name was Lerton Wright Hooker, died in 1982 in Sunny Vale, California.
I have contacted HIPS and they have no records of anyone who currently is growing it on their yearly Historical Iris submission. They are also going to submit it in their next ROOTS Journal. There may be someone who has it which is not a member of HIPS or who has not submitted a record of what Irises they raise. - Dennis Tieden, dtieden@yahoo.com - 2024-03-14 --

- I am embarking on quite the adventure!
My mother was an amazing woman… some of you may have heard of the Japanese-Siberian family hybridizing? yea, that was my mom…. Christy Hensler ( The Rock Garden - Newport WA USA.) She has been gone 11 years now, but I still feel her in the garden…
I have a handful of her iris that I quarantined in a corner of my garden.. last year.. I didn't expect any blooms this year but I got several- two different ones, that may be something new, They don't match any of the records I have for hers, so i will be sending a sample in soon. I'm so excited to carry on her legacy…
Most of her gardening records were lost in a house fire in 2021. My father and I are trying to label her plants as they bloom, and get a sample of each to my home.
I also have a few other iris Ive been given over the years, I will also get those examined. so that i know what I have and so that i can pass them on with their information.
If you have one of her's. Id love to get one….
She also had some daylilies?
I have her vinca "Illumination"
but have not yet acquired "Veronica Christy".
I've posted her plants , here:
