Container gardening with Iris

Container There are many reasons to grow iris in containers. Perhaps one has only a small deck on which to garden. Or one would like to move plants in bloom to a showcase of containers. Some considerations are the size of the plant and the size of the container. Large iris such as tall-bearded usual require at least a five gallon container to get good bloom without a lot of care. But smaller irises can be grown in even pint size containers. Generally the smaller containers dry out faster and require more watering. But many irises relish that drying out especially during their dormant periods.
