Scientist Johann Heuffel (1800-1857)
Hungery. Trained as a medical doctor. Known mainly for the botanical exploration southeastern Europe. His numerous botanical excursions in Banat, in the Carpathian Mountains of Transylvania, in the Balkan Mountains and elsewhere made him known as one of the then leading botanists of Europe.
