'Sunlit Fields' ( Frank Chowning, R. 1953). Louisiana, 30" (76 cm), Midseason bloom. Color Class-O3, Standards pale buff, Falls rosy buff, deepening to tan-gold at base. 'Louise Austin' x I. Abbeville Red. Conger 1954.

From AIS Bulletin #133, April 1954. Introducing SUNLIT FIELDS (Chowning) Reg '53-a different blend of oyster white and pink with a different form, a chalice that flares to exhibit the wide segments. The styles and claws have an unusual prominence. 6-1/2 inch flowers on a 30 inch stalk. $10.00. Sidney Conger.
