'Magnolia Petal' ( Mary DeBaillon, R. 1942) LA. Color Class-Y4L. Collected vicinity of New Orleans, LA about 1935 by DeBaillon. Recorded as Vinie in 49 Checklist; Class renamed Louisiana Iris.

From Milliken Iris Gardens catalog, 1948: MAGNOLIA PETAL A large (6 inch), firm cream flower with a bright yellow crest. An excellent flower for cutting, and very useful in effective garden grouping. 2-1/2 feet. $3.50.
From Walter Marx Gardens catalog 1955: MAGNOLIA PETAL. Each 1.50. Huge 6 inch flowers of smoothest cream with bright yellow signals. Very good form and exceptional substance. 2-1/2 feet.
