From University Hills Nursery catalog, 1966: BLUE SHIELD (Davis 1966)- Medium large blue flowers of unusually good substance and flaring form. The color is Prunella Violet with a chrome yellow line crest. Vigorous plant with strong, well branched scapes. Midseason. 34". $5.00.
