From Louisiana Iris Garden NY catalog 2016: Birdland. (Musacchia, J., R. 2015). Standards baby blue; style arms lavender, baby blue tips; Falls baby blue, signal yellow with light yellow at base. Registered height 23-25 inches. Early - mid season. Parentage unknown. Very attractive shade of blue in this iris makes it easy on the eyes. Good growth habit, proportions nice for the plant height. Has been a reliable bloomer in our NY garden, as well as in the South. It's name is a hat tip to the Weather Report jazz standard, which was in turn named for the NYC jazz club on 52nd Street. It's a jazzy little thing! $50.00. |
