1931, Small 'Alticristata' (John Kunkel Small, R. 1931) LA. Color Class-B1D. Although originally described as a species Iris alticristata Small it is now considered a selection from the wild of a natural hybrid Louisiana Iris and should be treated as a cultivar 'Alticristata'. Originally described in Small & Alexander, Bot. Interpr. Iridac. Pl. Gulf States (Contrib. N. Y. Bot.Gard. No. 327) 353 (1931).
