'Pleasant Journey' (Jonnye (Lois) Rich, R. 1964) Seedling K59-1B. JI (single), 36" (91 cm), Early to midseason bloom. Standards violet-purple; Falls deep violet, subdued white veins radiate from yellow signals. Marhigo seedling X Maddock seedling. Melrose 1965. Honorable Mention 1966.

From Melrose Gardens catalog,1965: PLEASANT JOURNEY (Mrs. R. A. Rich) 38" single.This flower reminds us of the prow wave cascading to either side in diamond showers as the fast prow of the ship cuts through the deep waters of the ocean. The style arms and center of the flower are glistening white that splashes out onto the sea violet falls. The falls are wide-overlapping and the hafts flare upward in a wave effect. $10.00.
From Tempo Two AU catalog, 1974: PLEASANT JOURNEY (Rich '65 USA) Single Mid-Season. Just like a huge butterfly each bloom stands out colored in brilliant violet with an electric blue area around sulphur yellow signals. A few white lines radiate out from signals. Styles are white tipped and edged in blue violet. 6" blooms. 34". HM '66. $5.00.
