'Over The Waves' (Walter Marx, R. 1959) JI, 48" (122 cm), Midseason late bloom. Standards white, light purple border, some stippling; Falls same, extra styles and petaloids. 'Aifukurin' X a Higo variety. Delayed registration. Marx 1955.

| From Walter Marx Gardens catalog, 1955: OVER THE WAVES 10.00. Our most intensely ruffled iris which drew tremendous attention last year when exhibited for the first time. A selection from our Butterfly Series the color is white with light purple borders and little stippling inside. Full tufted centers with extra styles and petaloids add to the charm of this most distinctive iris. Quite unlike anything else we list and sure to please those with an artistic flare. Midseason to late. 4 feet. |
