1972, Moldovan

'Turtledove' (Steve Moldovan, R. 1969). Seedling #50-69. IB, 20" (51 cm), Color Class V4O, Early bloom. Standards cream blue-gray blending to lavender-blue at base; falls beige-pink, smooth; lavender beard. 'Dove Wings' X 'Java Dove'. Moldovan 1972. High Commendation 1971; Honorable Mention 1973; Award of Merit 1977.

From AIS Bulletin #205 April 1972 Introducing TURTLEDOVE (Moldovan 72) E. 20". Sdlg. 51-69 (Java Dove X Dove Wings). Remarkable! Well-formed, smooth blossom with domed stds. of creamy lavender, deepening at their base and clean falls of buff-pink. Beards are lavender on the outer half and tangerine within. Branched. Long blooming. Fertile both ways. HC 1971. $25.00. Moldovan's Gardens.
