'Ray of Hope' (Paul Black, R. 2006). Seedling #K270A. IB, height 27" (69 cm), Early to midseason bloom. Standards medium dark red-purple, slight white plicata spray at base; style arms medium red-purple; falls dark red-purple, near white rim on edge of upper third, area around beard is white with fancy plicata marks and wash, darker grape haft; beards white tipped orange in throat, medium orange in middle, light orange at end; heavily ruffled; slight sweet fragrance. 'Stormy Circle' X seedling #E25DD: ('Contemporary Art' x 'Flights Of Fancy'). Mid-America 2006.

From Mid-America Garden catalog, 2006: RAY OF HOPE - IB, 27" (69 cm), Early-Midseason. Fully formed and heavily ruffled flowers are iridescent, dark red-purple. Large white luminata-plicata fall patches sanded dark purple emphasize medium orange beards. Falls have hairline white rims. Beautifully proportioned flowers and stalks. Sdlg.
