From Mid-America Garden catalog, 2006: NICKEL - IB, 26" (66 cm), Midseason. Nickel the iris is just as well formed and beautifully colored as Nickel the husky it is named for. She pointed this one out and asked that it be named for her. Her wish is my command. Precisely ruffled flowers are perfection. Standards are medium butter-yellow with dark violet-blue ribs and wide, slightly lighter plicata bands and light sanding and dotting over centers. Plum styles peer over bright yellow beards. White falls have narrower blue-grape plicata bands that are wider at hafts and narrowing toward bottoms. Nickel is a near perfect IB in every respect. Sdlg. K311A: (Starbaby x Black B302B) X (Contemporary Art x Flights Of Fancy). $22.50. |
