From Indian Spring Farms catalog, 1927: MARSH MARIGOLD (Bliss 1919). One of the brightest and most striking of the Variegatas. S. pale golden-yellow; F. deep purple brown, with a bright yellow margin. Described as a greatly improved Maori King. $1.50 each.
From Treholme Gardens catalog for 1928: Standards pale golden yellow; falls deep purple-brown, bright yellow margin. A very striking yellowish-brown effect. On the order of 'Maori King' but larger and taller. Darker also than 'Iris King'.
