'Little Gem' (Fisher Harris, R. 1955) Seedling #54-1. IB, 26" (66 cm). Midseason bloom. Pink self, frilled and ruffled. ((Hall seedling #42-10 x Loomis seedling #SQ 72) x 'Courtier') x 'Rosedale'. Craig 1956. High Commendation 1955; Honorable Mention 1956.

Note: Loomis seedling SQ72 was registered in 1977 as 'Pike's Peak Pink'.

From Rainbow Hybridizing Gardens catalog 1964: LITTLE GEM (Harris '56) + E-24". A real beauty-very flaring orchid pink with wide open standards permitting full view of the decorative styles and striking bright tangerine beards. Usually 4 or 5 prettily laced and ruffled styles in center. HM'56, RU-Knowlton Award '61. ((Halls 42-10 x SQ72) x Courtier) X Rosedale. Regularly $3.00; on $10 order $2.35; on $25 order $2.05.
