Standards butter cream, very wide slightly smoky raspberry plicata band and line up midrib, center dotted smoky raspberry; style arms dark raspberry; falls butter yellow to near white ground around beard, dark raspberry plicata haft and 1/2" plicata band, dotted interior edge of band, 3/4" raspberry dart below bright red-orange beard; ruffled, plicata marks extremely variable ranging from heavy to moderate; pronounced sweet fragrance. From Mid-America Garden catalog, 2009: INTOXICATING (Black 09) IB Midseason Very Late 25” (63cm). It is pretty heady stuff, Intoxicating is very close to perfection - tight, exquisitely ruffled, classically formed flowers, show stalks with 9-10 buds, strong healthy growth and superb proportion. Standard centers are cream dotted and lined dark rose magenta and surrounded with wide rose magenta plic bands that are finely veined darker. Pale yellow falls have half inch dark rose magenta plicata bands, darker hafts and dart at end of orange beards. Sdlg.
