1983, Hager

'Butter Pecan' (Ben Hager, R. 1983). Seedling #B3529Br&Y. IB, height 22" (56 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards pecan brown over yellow; falls full yellow ground stitched and bordered deep pecan brown, darker on hafts; yellow beard. 'Picayune' X 'Pepper Mill'. Melrose Gardens 1983. Honorable Mention 1985; Award of Merit 1987; Sass Medal 1991.

  • Butter Pecan has a thin wire rim of pecan brown on the falls. Also there is a little pecan brown tipping on the yellow beards.
Butter Pecan bloomed at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, zone 4b, approximately May 15 - 30 in 2017. -- HollyJohnson2017-04-01 - 01 Aug 2017
