1982, Ritchie

'Bedtime Story' (Jayne Ritchie, R. 1982). Seedling #75-12-2. IB, 22" (54 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards light amethyst violet (RHS 84C), slightly darker midrib; falls violet (86C) around beard and upper third of falls, blending to light amethyst violet (84C); amethyst violet (84B) beard. 'Apropos X 'Blue Pools'. Ritchie 1982. Exhibition Certificate 1981, Honorable Mention 1984, President's Cup 1984; Favorite Guest 1984; Award of Merit 1986.

  • Bedtime Story (Ib) holds up very well in rain. The amethyst violet beards become orange in the throat of the bloom. At the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, zone 4b, it bloomed, approximately, May 15 - 31, 2017. -- HollyJohnson2017 -04-01 - 01 Aug 2017
