WillmottSeedlist The 1939 Checklist notes: " Miss Ellen A. Willmott, F.L.S., V.M.H. (1860-1934), Warley Place, England Gardener and Author, Collector of rare plants. Author of the Genus Rosa. Her garden was originally that of John Evelyn, the diarist. The first woman Fellow of the Linnean Society, she received the Victoria Medal of Honour in 1897, she and Miss Jekyl being the first recipients. She also received the Geoffrey St. Hillaire Medal of the Societe d'Acclimation de France, and the Peter Barr Memorial cup in 1918."
