'Kona Nights' (J. Terry Aitken, R. 1992). Seedling #82M107. BB, 26" (66 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards light violet; falls deep velvety purple black, edged lighter; beards dark. 'Hellcat' X seedling #TA79-80: (('Warm Laughter' x 'Dusky Evening') x 'Mystique'). Aitken's Salmon Creek 1992. Honorable Mention 1994.

From Aitken’s Salmon Creek Garden, 1992: KONA NIGHTS (Aitken '92) BB, M-L, 26", 6-8 buds. A cross that had to happen! HELLCAT seedlings have exhibited many superior qualities, both in crosses down to the SDB class and now, KONA NIGHTS, in the BB class. A consistent performer, properly proportioned, and with excellent vigor and floriferousness on show bench stems. F1owers have light violet domed standards, deep velvety purple-black falls and a halo of light violet accenting the round ruffled fall edges. (Hellcat x (Dusky Evening x Mystique)). #82M107. $20.00.
