1989, Wight

'Jazz Star' (Tom Wight, R. 1989). Seedling #83-4. BB, 20" (51 cm), Early bloom and rebloom. Standards ruffled old gold, maroon line down center, white throat; falls white ground dotted and lined maroon, maroon brown edge; gold beard tipped maroon. 'Imam Ahmid' X 'Broadway'. Barb's Iris Delights, Wight's Iris 1990.

Note: Name previously assigned to a TB registered by the same hybridizer in 1982.

From AIS Bulletin #278 July 1990 Introducing JAZZ STAR (T. A. Wight, R. '89) BB, 20, E & RE. S. ruffled old gold, white throat and maroon line down center. F. white ground, dotted and lined maroon, edged brown. Gold beards tipped maroon. Good flower, form, substance and branching, strong stalk, showing off six flowers. $20.00. Barb's Iris Delights.
