1980, Ensminger

'Iris Bohnsack' (Allan Ensminger, R. 1980). Seedling #77-57. BB, 25" (64 cm). Midseason bloom. White ground variegata, striped with imperial violet (HCC 33/1); yellow beard tipped violet. 'Faydy Girl' X 'Doodle Strudel'. Varigay Gardens 1981. Exhibition Certificate 1980; Honorable Mention 1983; Award of Merit 1987. Novelty Iris.

From AIS Bulletin #241 April 1981 Introducing IRIS BOHNSACK-1981. $25.00. The first introduced variegated BB Iris. Nicely proportioned. White petals are striped with imperial violet. Best seedling in show, Omaha 1980. Varigay Gardens.
