( 'Spindrift' x 'Jeb Stuart') x 'Courtier' X 'Lotte Lembrich'. Melrose, Raleigh Hills 1959. Honorable Mention 1959; Knowlton Award 1961; Knowlton Medal 1968.

From AIS Bulletin #153, April 1959. Co-Introducing FRENCHI (Bennett Jones) 24" BORDER IRIS (Lottie Lembrick X 48C; Spinddrift X Jeb Stuart). It is difficult to restrain ourselves from becoming. as flamboyant as a Parisian Chanteuse in our interpretation of this provocative little Madamoiselle. The color tones are so rich and vibrant that a song could best describe it. The clean pink orchid standards harmonize lushly with the orbicular, horizontal falls of deep velvety petunia purple. With a generous dash of carmine lipstick, the thick beards flash a vivacious smile at us that completes the allegory. Well proportioned in all parts. HM '58 as #232, Net $10.00. Melrose Gardens/Raleigh Hills.
