From Walter Marx Gardens catalog 1955: LUNA. Each 2.00. A beautiful variety of large size and most pleasing form. Both standards and falls are pearly white veined dark purple with large black signal patch. 18 inches.
From The Court Of Iris catalog, 1961: LUNA ( Van T '08 ) EE 18" (I. korol violaceae X I. susiana). An exceptionally good variety in cream-white with a pinkish flush. The red-violet veins converge into a reddish a pinkish signal. $2.50

I korolkowii var. violacea X I susiana. AIS Color Class S9M (red squalens with bitone pattern). '76 CL: Pink to red-toned bicolor blend. Court of Iris: "Cream-white with a pinkishflush; red-violet veins converge into a reddish signal." Rainbow: "EE-18". Deep red-violet veins entrancingly etched on a smooth creamy ground, delightfully flushed with pink and lavender. Rich splash of purplish black plush in center of falls. Pollen green." Vallette: "cream, flushed pink and lavender, veined deep red-violet; velvety black signal and green anthers." Van Tubergen, 1908. Notes: Name approved; counted as a 21-chromosome diploid, an RC in both system; introduced before the registration system was established, name noted as approved in '39 CL.
