'Zebulon' ( Ella Callis, R. 1941) TB. Very late bloom. Color Class-B1M. 'Sir Knight' x 'Ormohr'.

Also listed in TB web 'Zebulon'.

NOTE: This iris has not been accepted as an arilbred by the Aril Society International because it does not exhibit the aril characteristics necessary for ASI acceptance.

From The Court Of Iris catalog, 1955: ZEBULON (Callis '41) LM 39" (Sir Knight X Ormohr). Shades from lilac-rose to purple-crimson, this flower is decorated with maroon veins. Reported to be fertile both ways--even on difficult hybrids. A rather new acquisition with us--we have not tried its fertility. $1.00
From Rainbow Hybridizing catalog, 1955: LM-39" Huge, veined lilac rose and purplish crimson. Fertile.
 
From Supplement To The Comprehensive Checklist of Aril and Arilbred Iris by Sharon McAllister, April 2000: ZEBULON Disenrolled. (Callis, R. 1941). Seedling # NIA. TB, VL. Sir Knight X Ormohr. AIS Color Class: B1M. (Medium blue self.) Court of Iris: "Shades from lilac-rose to purple-crimson, this flower is decorated with maroon veins." Rainbow: "Huge, veined lilac-rose and purplish crimson." Vallette: "Huge red-purple TB." No information on introduction found in AIS Checklists. Notes:1/8 onco, qualified as an arilbred until the quantum requirement was adopted. Ref: AIS '49, p. 262; Vallette, p. 193.
