1970, Tate

'Sanhedrin' OGB+ (Harry Tate, R. 1970). Seedling 6-5A. AB, 25" (64 cm), Early bloom. Standards bluish lavender, darker veining; falls pansy violet over white base; veined around brown beard tipped amber. 'Kerr's Wide Falls': ( I. nazarena x ( I. susiana x Austin W183: (Parentage unknown))) X 'Sayyed Yarmuk'. Sierra Vista Iris Gardens, 1970. Honorable Mention 1973.

From AIS Bulletin #197 April 1970 Introducing SANHEDRIN (H. Tate '70) 3/4 AB. 25", early. Kerr 55-5-0: Nazarena x (Susiana x Austin 183) X Sayyed Yasmuk. A strange and unusual color. S are bluish lavender, veined darker. Recurved falls are an unusual shade of raisiny violet; darker signal area below beard. Beard 1-1/4" wide. Somber yet extremely handsome and attractive. HG '67. $20.00 each, net. Sierra Vista Iris Garden.
