Standards intense fuchsia orchid; rosy terra cotta styles; falls rosy terra cotta; diffuse blackish beard almost covering large blackish signal. 2019 November 2 - We purchased AB Kalifa's Robe in 2017 through Aril Society's plant sale. This plant grew well in 2018 with good increase, but no flowers yet. In 2019 we enjoyed three stems on a yet larger clump. Really beautiful! Also pleasing to find sturdy stems which hold the large flowers up, through wind and rain. Our climate here is wetter, so while we have many bearded iris in western Oregon, almost no one grows arilbreds. Kalifa's Robe also served as a pollen parent to a couple of successful iris crosses this year, with other arilbred iris. If Kalifa's Robe continues to grow as well, it will be a winner for us here. -- Ted Hhavelka - 02 Nov 2019
