1977, Muhlestein

'Eastern Mystery' OGB ( Tell Muhlestein, R. 1976). Seedling 598. AB (1/2), 36" (91 cm). Early to late bloom. Standards pearl white; Falls chartreuse, occasionally flecked lavender depending on weather; beard lavender, tipped brown. 'Esther, The Queen' X 'Sojourn'. Tell's Iris Garden, 1977.

From AIS Bulletin #226 Summer 1977 Introducing EASTERN MYSTERY (Esther the Queen X Sojourn). #591, 36", E-M-L. Sends up secondary bloomstalks so blooms into the midseason. TB performance. S. are pearl-white; F. chartreuse; occasionally flecked with lavender in some weather conditions but not as attractive when it does. Beard is heavy, lavender, tipped brown. Has pollen and will pod. A striking arilbred. Net $25.00. Tell's Gardens.
